Belmont Abbey College

The Orientation Leaders would like to welcome all new students to the Belmont Abbey College Family! We look forward to your arrival on campus. We are hard at work planning New Student Orientations for all of you. Below is some information that will help you plan for what’s to come.

Fall New Student Orientation Info:

Congratulations on your choice to attend Belmont Abbey College! This is very important transition in your life from High School to College, or even from another college to Belmont Abbey College. We are here to help you find your place and make the transition as smooth as possible.

Fall Orientation is required for all New Students (Freshmen and Transfers; Resident students and Commuter students). Move-in for all new Residential students is Friday, August 20th, 2010 from 8am – 1pm. We suggest getting on campus earlier so you have enough time to get settled before the first session begins at 3pm. Your first stop once you are on campus is the HAID BALLROOM. You will check-in and receive your further instructions then, this is also where you get your Student ID, Parking Decal, meet with Business Office or Financial Aid and more.

Fall New Student Orientation is a 3 day program designed to give you and your Parents/Guardian a glimpse into all that Belmont Abbey College has to offer. At the same time we want to help you meet your fellow classmates and build relationships that will last your entire time here.

For Parents we have special sessions gear toward helping to make you more comfortable about leaving your student in our hands. You will have time to talk to Professors, Staff and the President. You will be informed on some of the more confusing aspects of FERPA regulations and be introduced to all the services we offer your student. Parents Orientation starts on Friday at 3pm and concludes with a Farewell Luncheon for Students and Parents at Saturday around 2pm.

If you have any questions or need anything before your arrival on campus, please contact the Coordinator of Student Activities and Orientation, Patrick Motter at 704-461-6780 or email PatrickMotter@bac.edu.

Spring New Student Orientation Info:

All Spring 2010 Admitted students are required to attend a short Spring New Student Orientation on Monday, January 11th, 2010. Orientation starts after lunch at 1pm in the Mezzanine on 2nd Floor of the Student Commons. Feel free to come join some of the Orientation Leaders for Lunch on us in Holy Grounds at noon. They’ll be wearing Red Belmont Abbey College Polos and sitting on the stage area.

Don’t forget to register with the Registrar from 9am-11am for classes before you come to Orientation. During Orientation you will get your e-mail information, your student ID, and hear from a number of the BAC Faculty and Staff, and even the president of the college, Dr. William Thierfelder. See you there!
