As you begin planning for your arrival at the Abbey, you are probably wondering when, where, and how you you need to arrive. Well you've come to the right place. Below you will find a list of important dates related to move-in and the beginning of the '10-'11 school year. Take note however, that we are always looking to update and modify the Orientation Schedule to accomodate our new students so the schedule is subject to change between now and August.

Dates for New Student Orientation '10:

  • August 20th, 8am - 2pm - New Student Check-in & Move-in
    • Check-in begins in the Haid Ballroom on campus at 8am. All new resident students must check-in before moving to the Residence Halls to begin moving in.
    • Bring any forms or paperwork you have yet to turn in.
  • August 20th, 11:30pm - 1:30pm - BAC Community Picnic
    • Take a break from the hustle & bustle of moving in and join Belmont Abbey Faculty and Staff for a southern style picnic in the Quad, located between our two freshmen residence halls.
  • August 20th, 2:30pm - Official Orientation Begins
    • Meet in the Wheeler Athletic Center for a Welcome by the President of Belmont Abbey College, Dr. William Thierfelder.
    • Immediately following the welcome, parents and students will be seperated to begin their own Orientation programs.
  • Orientation sessions continue into the evening and begin again Saturday at 9am.
  • Auguts 20th, 8:30pm - 9:30pm - Parent Reception
    • All parents are invited to a casual reception with members of the Belmont Abbey College community, including Monks, Faculty, Staff and the President of the college.
  • August 21st, 12pm - 1:30pm - Farewell Luncheon for Parents
    • We invite all parents and family to join their students for one last meal in the Student Commons before we ask you to leave your student in our hands.
    • Student go into First Year Symposium Courses and more Orientation sessions right after dinner.
  • August 22nd, 12pm - 5pm - Off Campus Event
    • All New Students are encouraged to join the Orientation Staff in a day of fun off campus. All transportation is provided and you will get more specifics on the available activities on your arrival to campus.
  • August 23rd - Crusader Fair
  • August 24th - First Day of Classes
  • September 6th - Labor Day
    • No classes this day and all College offices are close
  • October 21st - 24th - Fall Break
    • No classes during this break. College offices are open. Residence Halls remain open, but there is no food service on campus.
