Intramural Schedule for the Fall 2009 Semester
Ultimate Frisbee Hat Tournament (7 on 7 Co-ed)
Saturday, August 29th 12pm – 7pm. Games played on the field between Softball and Baseball fields.
This is a first time unique type of tournament for Belmont Abbey College Intramurals. The entire event will only last 1 day. Show up at noon and put your name in a hat to be chosen for a team. Teams will be chosen at random from all those participating.
Each team will be all other teams round robin style. First team to reach 15 points wins. Winning team will be the team with the best win loss record. In case of a tie, top 2 teams will play one another in a final winner takes all game.
Sand Volleyball (4 on 4 Co-ed)
Sign-ups – August 31st thru September 11th.
You can pick-up your roster sign-up at lunch in the Student Commons during this period. Rosters are also available on the Intramurals Bulletin Board next to the TV in the Student Commons.
Regular Season – September 14th thru September 27th (tentative depending on number of teams)
All games will be played on the Sand volleyball court located in the O’Connell Quad.
Tournament Games – October 4th starting at 1pm.
The top 8 teams will advance to a single elimination tournament based on their regular season record.
7 on 7 Flag Football
Sign-ups – September 28th thru October 9th
You can pick-up your roster sign-up at lunch in the Student Commons during this period. Rosters are also available on the Intramurals Bulletin Board next to the TV in the Student Commons. Deadline is 1pm on Friday, October 9th.
Regular Season – October 14th thru November 8th
Actual length of the season depends on the number of teams.
All Games will be played on the field in between the Library and the Science Building.
Tournament Games – November 9th thru November 15th (Tentative depending on regular season games)
Tournament will consist of top 8 teams. This will be a single elimination tournament.
Intramural Tailgating/Grilling
Sign-ups – November 9th thru November 18th
You can pick-up your roster sign-up at lunch in the Student Commons during this period. Rosters are also available on the Intramurals Bulletin Board next to the TV in the Student Commons. Deadline is 1pm on Wednesday, November 18th.
The main event will consist of a rib grilling contest. All teams signed up will receive 2 slabs of ribs. All ribs will be distributed on Thursday, November 19th. Ribs will need to be brought to the Quad by 1pm on Saturday, November 21st for grilling by the Intramurals staff. Contestants can bring their own grill if that have one.
During the grilling process, there will be a number of typical tailgating games available to play and we will broadcast the college football games on the BAC Movie screen and sound system.
Even if you aren’t competing come out and enjoy some college football and fun with all your friends.
