Educational Programming

The campus safety and police department will sponsor crime, rape, and personal safety classes throughout the academic year. These classes are open to all students, faculty, staff, and the outside community. There will be no charge (except for materials) for anyone attending, and the community will be notified by flyers posted around the area.

Whistle Safety Program:
Whistles and instructions on how to use them are offered to all students.

Sexual Assault Awareness:
Local agencies are invited to come in and speak to students and the community about Sexual Assault and how to deal with it if it happens to them.

Alcohol Awareness:
The College offers educational sessions concerning underage and binge drinking. On occasion Alcohol Educational Training will be assigned to students as a result of a campus judicial sanction.

New Student Orientation:
Providing information to new arrivals including an address from the Chief of Campus Police and an opportunity to ask questions about the department.

Residence Life Staff Training:
Educational sessions provided to Residence Life Staff including fire safety and drug and alcohol awareness.

Safety and Threat Assessment Committee:
Committee comprised of faculty, staff and students meeting regularly to discuss overall campus safety.

Fifteen Passenger Van Safety/Certification:
Offers safety and driving instruction for those employees with good driving records and 25 years or older, seeking to drive campus owned or leased fifteen passenger vans. This class is required for campus certification to operate these vehicles.

Bicycle Registration:
Come by the campus police station to register your bicycle or scooter at no cost.

Safety Bulletins:
Regular safety bulletins will be sent by the office of campus police notifying the college community of updated safety precautions, safety tips and alerts.
